AR.FreeFlight 2.2 is a free control application that allows you to fly the Parrot AR.Drone and AR.Drone 2.0 with ease. By simply tilting your iPhone, iPod, or iPad, you can control the direction of your drone. The intuitive sensors of the AR.Drone ensure stability in the air, making it easy for anyone to fly like a champion. With features like Absolute Control piloting mode, even beginners can adjust the drone's flight characteristics as they gain expertise.

One of the standout features of the AR.Drone 2.0 and AR.FreeFlight 2.2 is its ability to record high-definition video as you fly. The HD video is recorded and sent directly to your device via WiFi after landing. With a single click, you can seamlessly upload your videos to Youtube or share your pictures on Picasa.

The AR.Drone 2.0 also offers the exclusive ability to perform mid-flight acrobatics with a simple control.

Enhance your flying experience with AR.Drone Academy. This feature allows you to see all your flights on a map, watch your videos with in-flight data, and share them with pilots worldwide.

Director Mode Launch enables you to create stabilized and smooth trajectories by using automatic movements like panoramas, crane shots, and more. You can also adjust front camera settings such as white balance, saturation, and exposure to capture the scene exactly as you want it. Post-production options are available specifically designed for AR.Drone 2.0 videos, allowing you to stabilize the video directly on your iDevice. Additionally, you can trim parts of your video that are not of interest and create a new video with only the selected sequences.

For Flight Recorder compatibility, it is important to plug it above the battery to utilize all the linked features. A new piloting mode has been developed that allows you to select a point on a map, set the speed and altitude, and let the AR.Drone 2.0 fly autonomously towards that point. The "Return Home" functionality helps bring the drone back to its take-off location automatically. You can review your flights in 3D on the AR.Drone Academy map when using the Flight Recorder connected to your AR.Drone 2.0.

In case your AR.Drone 2.0 gets stuck in a tree, the "Rescue mode" can be activated directly from the piloting interface to attempt to unblock it. The propellers will spin even if the drone is upside down, giving you new possibilities to take action and retrieve your drone.
